In 2012 the department released the Supervision and Delegation framework for allied health assistants.
The framework has been developed to provide information on ways of working with AHAs and supporting AHPs to be able to confidently delegate tasks and supervise AHAs. As stated in the RFQ the framework seeks to actively improve the sectors understanding of the AHA role and increase the uptake and utilisation of the role across Victoria.
Three hour interactive training sessions have been developed based on the Victorian Supervision and delegation framework for Allied Health Assistants (AHA), targeted at Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Grade 3 AHAs that may assist in the supervision of Grade 1 and 2 AHAs, providing participants with a sound knowledge of the AHA role and practical clinical supervision and delegation skills. Focus of the
delivery will include developing a good understanding of the skills and knowledge AHAs will have once they have successfully completed the Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistants.
It is anticipated that this Weebly will be a supportive resource to the training sessions providing participants with extra information about:
·
# The role of the Allied Health Assistant
·
# Delegation, including the delegation process and the delegation flow chart
# Supervision, including approaches to supervision and the supervision process
·
# Allied health stream specific information in regards to AHAs
It is anticipated that information under the tab “practical examples” will come from scenarios discussed during the delivery of the training sessions.
The feedback tab contains two opportunities for participants to provide feedback about the framework. One is in the form of a Survey with questions specific to the framework – link to survey monkey provided, and the second one is in the form of a forum.
